A team of well-trained naturalists at Asteya Nagzira Resort near Nagzira Tiger Reserve enhance the guest experience with their in-depth understanding of the surrounding forest and its inhabitants. Apart from the wildlife safari drives, our naturalists’ conduct private nature walks and birding tours in Nagzira Tiger Reserve and also give our guests a glimpse of central Indian village life. Multiple dining options include a romantic dinner on a private room deck, indoor and outdoor dining options and an outdoor bush dinner. Lodge fires and star gazing are the perfect way to end a long day in the forest. Nagzira Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra, India remains closed during the monsoons from 1st July to 15th October and on each Thursdays as well.
Nagzira Tiger Reserve has five entry points for core zone, namely, Pitezhari, Mangezhari, Chorakhmara 1 & 2, Umarzari. Pitezhari is the most popular gate for tourism. Asteya Nagzira is located just 7 km from Pitezhari Gate & 14 km from Umarzari gate. A total of 50 vehicles are permitted to enter the Park per day from these two gates as per break-up given below. In each vehicle, 6 tourists along with park guide and Naturalist (total – 8) are allowed. Advance booking and add-on facility on such bookings are allowed by the forest department.
A Nature trail in Nagzira Tiger Reserve, which is adjacent to our hotel in Kanha has options for 5 & 7 km loops. The walk takes you through the interiors of the Buffer zone of the reserved forest. The walk offers an excellent opportunity to see various species of flycatchers and fantail. It is a slow-paced activity and an opportunity to be one with the wilderness.
